Shop and Showcase overview

Array is built around two types of storefront content: Shop and Showcase.

Shop content is for products customers can browse and purchase. Showcase content is for visual projects, case studies, lookbooks, collaborations, launches, or portfolio-style entries.

Shop Content

Use standard products and standard collections for items you want customers to buy.

Standard collection templates can include filtering, sorting, product cards, quick view, ratings, vendor display, add-to-cart buttons, and pagination.

Showcase Content

Use Showcase for products or entries that should be presented differently from normal shop products.

Array treats a product as a showcase product when it has the product tag:

display:showcase

Array treats a collection as a showcase collection when the collection uses the showcase collection template.

How Showcase Products Behave

  • Products tagged display:showcase   are hidden from normal collection grids.
  • Showcase products can appear in showcase collections.
  • Products tagged display:showcase   use the main Product section’s showcase layout, with showcase-specific image slider settings and an optional enquiry button.
  • If you add the separate Product Showcase section to a product template, it can display custom metafield data in a product meta table.

When to Use Showcase

Use Showcase for:

  • Portfolio projects
  • Lookbooks
  • Limited work or non-purchasable pieces
  • Project pages for creative practices
  • Case studies
  • Collection stories

Use normal shop products for items customers should add to cart and purchase.
